Alright, so i have the complete .dmg file for leopard. It is the Install DVD, not an upgrade disk. However, i followed all the directions on this website... http://iuseapple.com/blog/apple-how-to/advanced-os-x/2007/10/29/how-to-install-leopard-from-external-firewire-hard-drive/#dmgsection and still cant get it to boot. System Preferences reports that its a startup disk but when i restart it just goes back to my normal operating system. Ive tried holding down option when my computer starts up and it still only gives me the option for starting up in tiger. I have my firewire 250 gig external harddrive partitioned into two sections- one with 8 gigs labled Mac OS X Install DVD with the .dmg ONLY and the other one is just labeled external hard drive with nothing on it. How to i get it to boot and install leopard on my machine?
