I don't think it's all that busy . . .

Here are some comparison pics. The first is a Finder window that is currently possible. The next two are my fantasy finder windows, without and with the info panel open, but this time in icon view.
I think with my first mockup being in list view, it looked busier than it really is. That, and my first mockup didn't have as much spacing between elements as Apple uses. The new ones do. Remember, too, that these new features can be disabled/enabled by the user. In these mockups, the path button bar at the bottom of the window is not enabled.
