Interesting (IMO) bit of MS shittiness

I was putting slides together at work today in PowerPoint (Office 2004) on my Mac, cutting and pasting graphs from Excel into PP. This ended up crashing both programs more often than not, so I had to resort to saving the graphs as images and importing the images into PP. However, saving as the default PNG fucked up the color profile I had used. I had to go with the Mac PICT option to get it right. Additionally, even though my PP presentation passes the compatibility check, it will not open in in Office XP which some of my co-workers are stuck with in Windows. It opens in Office 2003 no problem, but not Office XP. So as a work around, I opened the .ppt file with Keynote, then exported it as a .ppt file. Then it opened fine in Office 2003. Fucking MS. Can't make their own programs work together. 2 problems solved (worked around really) by Apple solutions.
