Hmmm, well, I was definitely won over by the trailer as well but haven't seen the film yet. That's a shame to hear that it's been advertised so dishonestly but from what I understand it's a WW2 drama where the title character's mother becomes either the wife or mistress of a Nazi commander and she escapes all the horro around her by going to this fantasy world. Is that about right? Anyhow, I'm still interested in checking it out!
